Dearborn and Detroit Rental Planning

A Clear Start. A Planned Return.

The keys are only one part of a rental handoff. A few checks before you drive help establish the vehicle's condition, confirm the agreed terms and make the return easier to plan.

Use this checklist for your next luxury or performance car rental in Detroit, whether you choose a Corvette, Mustang or another vehicle from the Corsa Nero fleet.

01 / Before Pickup

Confirm the Plan Before You Leave Home

Save your booking details somewhere you can find them quickly. Check the exact vehicle, rental dates, pickup and return times, and the agreed meeting locations. A Detroit hotel entrance, a Dearborn delivery address and an airport meeting point each need different coordination.

  • Have your documents ready. Complete the requested driver and insurance review before handoff. Bring your valid driver's license and any other documents Corsa Nero has asked you to provide.
  • Review the complete quote. Make sure you understand the rental price, deposit, included mileage, extra mile rate and any agreed delivery charge.
  • Confirm changes in advance. If the meeting location or timing changes, contact the team rather than assuming the original arrangement still works.

Rentals are arranged by appointment. Allow time for the vehicle review before your first meeting, family visit or other commitment.

02 / At Handoff

Walk Around the Car Before Driving Away

Review the vehicle with the team while it is safely parked. Look at the front and rear bumpers, body panels, wheels, glass and interior. Point out anything you want clarified and make sure existing marks are accurately reflected in the handoff record.

Take Useful Condition Photos

Start with wider views that show each side of the car, then take closer photos of any existing mark. Include the wheels, windshield, seats and dashboard readings. Check that the images are clear before you leave; a dark or blurred photo may show very little later.

Keep the original files for your records. Record the actual condition without editing out marks or hiding damage. Avoid including other people's faces, licenses or private information in your photos.

Check Fuel, Mileage and Supplied Items

Note the starting odometer reading and fuel level, and compare them with the handoff record. Confirm which keys and any supplied accessories must come back with the vehicle. If a record differs from what you see, ask for it to be checked before departure.

Learn the Controls While Parked

Adjust your seat and mirrors, locate the lights and wipers, and ask how to use the parking brake, gear selector and luggage compartments. Set your navigation before moving. Do not assume an unfamiliar rental works exactly like your own car.

A condition check is a shared record. Clear photos and accurate notes help both sides understand the starting condition. Keep them with the handoff documentation and rental agreement so any later question can be reviewed using the relevant records.

Keep the Agreement Handy During Your Rental

Use the vehicle for the agreed purpose and follow the approved driving area, driver permissions and return arrangements. Mileage allowance, rental duration and driving area are separate terms; having miles left does not extend your booking or change where you may drive.

If plans change, contact Corsa Nero before acting on the change. Report a new warning, damage or another concern promptly and accurately. If something appears unsafe, stop in a safe place and seek assistance rather than continuing simply to stay on schedule.

03 / Before Return

Leave Time for Fuel and the Final Check

Plan the drive back using the agreed return location and time. Allow room for traffic, refueling and checking your belongings. If a delay becomes likely, contact the team as early as possible. A message about a delay is not the same as an approved extension.

  • Match the documented fuel level. Corsa Nero requires the same fuel level recorded at handoff. Check the agreement and use the fuel grade specified for the vehicle.
  • Collect your belongings. Check the cabin, storage compartments and luggage area for phones, chargers, documents and other personal items.
  • Record the final condition. Take clear photos of the safely parked vehicle, odometer and fuel gauge. Tell the team about any new mark or incident.
  • Return the agreed items. Bring back the keys and supplied accessories, and follow the agreed handoff procedure.

Do not leave the car, hide the keys or hand them to someone else unless Corsa Nero has specifically agreed to that return method. Ask how receipt of the vehicle will be confirmed, and keep the final rental documents with your records.

Review Any Follow Up With the Records in Front of You

If a question comes up after return, compare the handoff notes, your photos and the rental agreement. Ask for an explanation of any proposed charge you do not understand and provide relevant records accurately.

Deposit handling and any conditional charges depend on the agreed terms and the circumstances. Ask the team to explain the return review and deposit process before booking.

Plan Your Next Drive

Choose the Vehicle. Confirm the Details.

Browse the current fleet, select your dates and send your rental request. The team can review availability, driver requirements and the complete terms for your booking.

Pickup and Return Questions

What should I check before accepting a rental car?

Review the vehicle's condition, odometer, fuel level, keys and supplied items. Confirm the rental times, return arrangements and agreed terms, then ask about any control you are unfamiliar with before driving.

Should I photograph the car at pickup and return?

Clear photos at both points can help document condition. Keep the original files, report any concern and compare your records with the handoff documentation. Keep these records with your rental documents so any follow up can be reviewed using the relevant information.

What if I notice an existing scratch at pickup?

Point it out before departure and ask for it to be recorded accurately. Take a clear photo and keep the handoff record so there is a shared reference for the vehicle's starting condition.

Can I change the return time or leave the keys somewhere?

Contact Corsa Nero before changing the arrangement. Return time changes, extensions and unattended key returns need specific agreement; do not assume they are included in the original booking.
